Meet BFIG's Executives

Chairman - Nick Chrzan

I am in my fourth year of the Business Administration program with a concentration in Marketing. I have been involved with BFIG for all four years and have been an executive the past two years. BFIG has provided an incredible opportunity to get involved outside of the classroom and I would encourage everyone to come out and get involved with the club.

President - Wes Cutting

I am finishing my last year here at Brock University. I have been apart of BFIG since 3rd year and have had nothing but amazing experiences with the club. The networking that is a result of being a member of the club has given me some life long friends and colleagues. Events such as the Bloomberg Training Course, PDAC Metals and Mining Conference, and the R.I.S.E. conference have given myself that extra curricular knowledge that we don't have available to us through our academic calendars. Outside of BFIG I enjoy playing guitar, and watching/playing soccer.

Vice President - Michael Tung

My name is Michael Tung and I am going into my 4th year, majoring in Business Economics specializing in Financial Economics. In my 3rd year, I took interest in BFIG mainly because I knew they had an active trading portfolio and it opened up opportunities for me to learn how to be a smarter trader. I plan to start out as an equity research analyst when I graduate, and hopefully pursue either a graduate degree in Masters of Financial Engineering or Financial Mathematics and one day work for a mega hedge fund. As a hobby,  I like to play basketball and read about new things that I don’t know much about to broaden my scope of knowledge such as web analytics, diamond cutting, and quantitative trading strategies just to name a few.

Chief Technology Officer - Peter Jun

My name is Peter Jun and I am in my 2nd year at Brock University in the Accounting Honour program. I am currently concentrating in Accounting. After I become the Chartered Accountant, I would also like to work as a Financial Analyst. My hobby is driving and I am also proficient with Kendo (Japanese Swordmanship). 

Chief Sector Analyst - Zach Capener

My name is Zachary Capener and I am in my 4th year at Brock University in the honors Business administration program. I am currently shadowing the Finance stream but am applying for the concentration now.  I got involved in BFIG mostly by a recommendation from a couple of friends but also my interest in finance that was built taking Finance courses. After graduation I plan on working for a bank like TD or Royal Bank, working with financial planning or financial advising. My hobby outside of finance is Kinesiology. I have been reading a body-building encyclopedia and enjoy working out and learning better ways dieting and building muscle.

Vice Chief Marketing Officer - Sarah Schimkat

I am in my second year of accounting and it is my second year with BFIG as well. I joined BFIG because I was interested in learning more about investing and finance and it did not disappoint. I am excited to continue my involvement with BFIG as well as being a member of the executive team! In my spare time I enjoy sports - mainly soccer and volleyball.

I am a second year BBA student and this is my second year being involved with BFIG. BFIG has been a great way to get involved and is helping learn more about finance. Outside of school I enjoy snowboarding, running, and reading.

Names Adam Black, I'm a third year BBA student and will be concentrating in Finance. BFIG has given me the opportunity to take my passion for investing and finance to the next level. Also a great way to gain practical experience and network! After Brock I'm planning on getting my MBA in finance.

Head of Fundamental Research - Tim Adams

I am entering my second year of the BBA program at Brock. I have not yet declared my concentration but am strongly leaning towards finance. Hearing about BFIG through orientation and attending the first meeting I immediately recognized the great opportunities available. I am excited to be a part of the executive team and look forward to contributing to the success of the group as well as gaining knowledge from our many talented members. Outside of school I enjoy the listening and producing of music.

Treasurer - Johannes Botman

I am entering my fith year of the Accounting Honours program. I got involved in BFIG after meeting the current and former presidents at a case competition. After graduation, I plan on working towards my Certified Management Accountant.
